- 1 Cor. 16:14
God gave me a prophetic word for His remnant.
The word is this:
"God is bringing us back from captivity" (which translates that God is restoring us to prosperity, again - with an emphasis on again.)
After the word was given, some people approached me and started telling me all the big expensive items they were going to buy with that money, and my heart wept inside because they misunderstood what the finances are to be used for. I need to clarify the "Prosperity" God is talking about now is not a license to spend, spend, spend like churches did a few years ago when the "Prosperity" Message spread through the church like wildfire.
The "Prosperity" Message started in the mid-1990's, and it was a word from God to his Church telling His people to use the finances He was sending them to Advance His Kingdom. the church was to take care of the widows and orphans, the poor and needy, to lead people to Christ, and to let people know God cares about their smallest of needs -- not just by praying for them, but by reaching out and actually paying bills for people who did not have the finances to do so. However, some churches got greedy.
Ministers and church leadership were so focused on the money coming in that they did not ask the Holy Spirit what the finances were to be used for. All they thought about was what they could buy to make themselves look bigger and better than the church down the street. Many churches throughout the United States kept the money internally to build an empire, and did not give it out to God's hurting people.
Churches grew in size physically, but not spiritually. Mega churches bought mega luxury items and properties taking out huge bank loans to purchase them assuming their congregation would donate large sums of money to pay off all of those loans, and . . . well, it just got embarrassing.
Now, while this was going on, God had a remnant (which is a group of true Christians tucked away in small venues like industrial parks and rented school buildings) set apart and being prepared to do something special. This Remnant of Christians grew, not in size, but in faith and trust in God. They let God have complete control of their lives. God stripped them of their jobs, their health, their retirement accounts, and even put their homes in foreclosure in order to test their harts to see what they would do.
God watched as remnant churches got smaller in size (some people seem to think that bigger is better), so people left the church to go to one that is more popular, with more people. That's O.K. God does that on purpose to clean out the pews so what remains is the true Remnant. God also watched as His Remnant would sometimes cry to sleep at night where no one could see them but God because after all, they are human and loss of any kind is hard on the soul. Yet, this remnant continued to minister to the few, and to give out what little they had, all the while praising the Lord. To most, they looked silly, but to God, it brought tears to His eyes.
Great things come in small packages.
So, God said He would restore prosperity to them again because God is replacing what they had before He removed it from them in order to test their hearts. In addition to replacing what they had, God is going to give them more, as long as they use the finances to Advance His Kingdom and not their own.
When the wealth of the sinners laid up for the righteous comes into the possession of the true Remnant, we are to do the following with it:
We are living in the last days, and it is good to be prepared for any situation that may arise. That is called Wisdom. Besides, since we do not know the hour or the day when Jesus will return, do you really think we will be standing there holding onto Samsonite luggage in each hand filled with our personal material possessions at the exact time of His return? I don't think so.
