- 1 Cor. 16:14
When I get a vision from God, it is because I have asked Him to show me what He is prophetically saying to His people at that time. Prophecy is taking a future event and bringing it into the present to share with a person or group of people so they can have something to hope for, something to cling to to reassure them that what God promised them, is really going to happen.
Two weeks ago, during the worship service at my church, I asked the Lord to show me a vision for us. Exactly a week later, God gave me a second vision. Both visions had country sides covered in snow. Snow is a symbol of purity, i.e., “white as snow.”
When Jesus was transfigured on the Mount in Mark 9, verse 3 tells us: His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. John in Revelations 1:14 uses the words “white as snow” when describing the appearance of the Lord, as does Daniel in Daniel 7:9.
Isaiah 55:10-12 talks about the snow from heaven. Just like rain, snow waters the earth as it melts and causes things to bud, and grow. It is a symbol of the blessings of the Lord about to come forth for us. It is a sign that we are about to prosper in all things, not just finances.
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
“For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
and the ground was covered with snow. People were playing musical instruments such as saxophones, trumpets, flutes – any type of instrument you would see in a marching band. As they were playing the musical instruments, the people were full of incredible joy, as they walked in a line past the decorated Christmas tree.
The interpretation is this: God wants us to praise him this Christmas season, in spite of our current circumstances. He wants us to take our focus off ourselves and focus on worshipping the birth of His Son, Jesus. After all, Jesus is the reason for the season. The lyrics to the Christmas song
“Joy To The World” are:
Joy to the World, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
When we praise the Lord it honors Him, and our stress flees, and a peace comes over us that causes us to let go of our burdens. They are not ours to carry in the first place. Matthew 11:28-30 tells us:
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
God knows this has been a very difficult year for all of us financially speaking. Economic pressures caused lost jobs, which caused lost finances, which cost lost homes, and a pile of unpaid bills. God wants us to enjoy Christmas, even if we cannot afford to purchase gifts. Christmas was never supposed to be about buying gifts. You see, the greatest gift there ever was can’t be bought. The greatest gift is Jesus.
Jesus is our deliverer from all our stresses, and worries and sleepless nights wondering how we are going to pay our bills now that our salaries have been cut in half, or taken from us completely because of a lay-off. Our current stresses are temporary – designed to strengthen us – designed to cause us to trust in Jesus. Jesus is going to deliver us, and restore to us finances that were stolen from us. That’s the best Christmas gift anyone could give us.
The second vision also contained a countryside covered in snow.
A child was sitting in an old-fashioned train as it was travelling. He was looking out the window with a look of uneasiness, not able to enjoy the day, wondering where he was headed. The interpretation the Holy Spirit gave me was this:
Being on the train meant being “on track” with the Lord. Looking out the windows of the train car meant we should continually watch and pray while we wait on the Lord. As we do this, God will make sure we reach our destination in His timing. It’s not always for us to know everything. Even when we do not know where our current journey is taking us, God does, and He has us on track, so we will arrive at our appointed destination.
This season, be merry because Jesus is Lord, and He loves us. As we celebrate His birth, Jesus will see to it that everything broken in our lives will be made new (made white as snow).
